But when I saw an episode, I have to admit: this was the most intriguing TV series ever seen because the sound effect and the way camera worked in the fighting scene, so cool! And I also liked the way of a hologram window at the parlor worked, it seemed so real! Especially, when they came to a cliff the spaceship came up and the camera zoomed out slowly to have effect, it was so awesome.
If you want to see another wonderfully made TV series like this, see 'touch' on global, they're airing on march 19.
Thank you Brad for showing us the wonderfully made TV series!
What I like most about “Firefly” is its resistance to convention, especially in showing us strong female characters. The mechanic is a female! The pilot is married to a black woman who is second in command. Inara is a companion (like a prostitute, but one that controls her own life—an interesting switch). In fact, the women are shown as somewhat more capable than the men in many instances. My daughter is also a huge fan, so much so that she has rewatched the whole series at least once. And, always, no matter what, the show is always fun to watch. Besides, the moral issue of stealing needed medicine and then returning it at great personal risk seems a step above the usual science fiction plot.
I did not like it. scenery was dark, dull and grundgy. I thought it was boring and just wanted it to end. I didn't care much for the cast either. I didn't like the theme of a furturistic western. The two are oppisites. However with that being said, I did like what Brad brings up and they had strong female characters. Maybe this is what the future holds for us. And I did like that when they did discover what they were hired to steal, they end up giving it back. They were not heartless theives. Sorry but this series would not be on my favorites list to watch. Oh ya, and I agree with Esther, I liked when the space ship showed up to save them. That was cool.
I think “Firefly” is great. Its theme and plot are decent. Despite the initial reason that the Captain and his crew take on this job is for good money, they have soul and brain. They do the right thing for the wrong reasons. It enthrals audiences with its creative combination of high tech spaceship, adventure, action and morality. However, I dislike the scene that the Captain kicked a guy into the spaceship engine although maybe its intention is to let audiences see the other facet of his nature.
So, you cannot like it due to its messing with conventions? I'm watching a show that my wife dubbed "teenage noir" based on a young girl who helps her father with his private eye business. Definitely not conventional TV, but I'm willing to give it a chance. Veronica Mars if you are interested in the title.
It is true, however, that the setting takes some getting used to but most shows mess with reality one way or another. The Good Wife makes us think that court cases are easily and quickly solved (but this isn't true in real life). For fiction, we often let these things pass unnoticed, especially if we enjoy the plots and characters and themes.
i don't have an issue with convention, my point is the life 500 years ahead has no big difference with what we have now, even looks like behind our times.it doesn't sound interesting.
I see. I guess it is true that we'd expect things to be really different then. Personally, I imagine humans pretty much disappeared in 500 years! No worries Linda since personal taste is just that, personal. Sorry if I came on a bit strong . . .
What I think about this TV series “Firefly”? Well it's a little bet hard for to make a decision on a TV show like “Firefly”, because I haven't seen the previous episode, although I found this episode quiet interesting. I think it was pretty motivating and fascinating, therefore; has made me thinking of watching the other episodes too.
I first thought; a space cowboys, really?

ReplyDeletei don't like this episode. it tells the story happened 500 years later but looks like western cowboys in the space ship 50 years ago. so no comments.
